A wrong-way driver caused an accident on the Antwerp ring on Saturday afternoon. The driver had already driven away from a police check. The Antwerp road police are investigating why. There were no injuries in the accident.

The driver drove in the wrong direction onto the Antwerp ring road and caused an accident while driving in the wrong direction near Antwerp-North in the direction of the Netherlands. The driver then ran, but was caught. Further investigation will have to show why he drove away from the control.
