Al-Akhbar (Nouakchott) President Mohamed Ould El-Ghazouani and a number of ministers and government officials received Mauritanian evacuees from Sudan.
On Thursday morning, a Mauritanian Air plane carrying 110 members of the Mauritanian community in Sudan landed at Nouakchott International Airport.
More than a hundred members of the Mauritanian community in Sudan arrived yesterday, Wednesday, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, before being transported by a Mauritanian plane to Nouakchott.
Since April 15, large-scale clashes have erupted in a number of Sudanese states between the army, led by Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and the Rapid Support Forces, led by Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo “Hamidti”, killing and wounding hundreds, most of them civilians.
