Ghana has not recorded any cases of the Ebola virus, a senior health official said on Wednesday.
Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, director general of the Ghana Health Service, made the remarks following media reports of an Ebola outbreak in northern Ghana.
Speaking to the media, the official said his team had conducted a simulation exercise to test their preparedness for such a health emergency.
“I am not aware that we have registered any Ebola cases in the Northern region. What I can say is that we conducted an Ebola simulation exercise at the operations center of the management services public health emergency,” he said.
In 2014, an Ebola epidemic broke out in West Africa, mainly affecting Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia. F
