“In order to further optimize the vaccine portfolio and make it more efficient, it has been decided not to use the first vaccinations with Moderna,” said GGD GHOR. This means that only the first shots with the vaccine from Pfizer/BioNTech are currently being administered. Just like with Moderna, two shots of that vaccine are needed to be fully vaccinated. Janssen’s vaccine is also still being used, but no second dose is needed.
Fewer and fewer first corona shots are being taken. More than 43,000 people received their first corona jab last week. At the peak of the vaccination campaign this summer, there were still hundreds of thousands of first shots per week.
