GGD uses DJs to motivate young people for a shot, but does that help?

To motivate young people to get vaccinated, DJs were deployed at the NDSM warehouse in Noord this weekend. You could just walk in here without an appointment for a shot. The GGD does this to lower the threshold for young people in particular to be vaccinated.

The hall was not very full today. One of the vaccinated fears that the DJs will not really convince young people. “No, I don’t think so, it feels a bit clumsy, it’s not really a party either. Young people are not stupid either. You can just talk to them, they are not four-year-olds who motivate you with a DJ.”

Karo Rozeboom, vaccination coordinator at the GGD, hopes that every little bit helps: “We are doing this to lower the threshold, young people who think: I want that shot, but I haven’t made an appointment. You can just walk in here easily. Of course, you won’t convince people who are absolutely against it, but you may be able to convince people who are planning to but don’t make an appointment.”

Festival The Sun

Today the De Zon festival would actually have taken place in the NDSM warehouse. For this, the planned vaccinations of this weekend had been moved to a different location. Now that the festival is not allowed to continue, the GGD has decided to keep the location open to prick.
