A report Chinese scientist revealed the discovery of the NeoCov virus, which it claimed was a ‘new Covid variant’.
The report also sounds worrying, because apart from being claimed to be a new Covid variant, it is also said to be more deadly.
Launching The Independent, Saturday, January 29, 2022, NeoCov Coronavirus is said to have threatened with a higher infection and death rate than the previous type of virus that caused a global pandemic, namely SARS-CoV-2 which causes Covid-19.
The report cites a study published in the online journal, BioRxiv, earlier this week, which was published by Chinese researchers and has not been peer-reviewed.

So, what is NeoCov?
Chinese scientists discover the NeoCov virus, according to a new, yet-to-be-peer-reviewed study report.
However, the NeoCov virus is actually not a new variant of the corona virus that is causing the current global pandemic.
In contrast, NeoCov is a virus that originates from a different strain of coronavirus associated with Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS-CoV).
So far, the origins of Mers-CoV itself are not fully understood.
