Bank Indonesia (BI) once published coin special (commemorative coin) IDR 150 thousand denomination made of gold. The coin aims to raise children’s welfare funds around the world through participation in The Unicef Children of the World Coin Collection program.
Citing the official page WITH A, Wednesday (14/7), in addition to the Rp150 thousand denomination of gold, the central bank also released Rp10 thousand of silver. The money is marked with the period 1999 and was circulated starting January 31, 2000.
“This money printing is also an example of BI’s attention and participation in improving the quality of life of Indonesian children and also the world,” said BI on the official website.
BI explained that the Rp150 thousand bill depicted a boy’s face playing a lumping horse. It is known, Kuda Lumping is a dance art that is played with the property of an artificial horse made of woven bamboo or braids.
“While on the back there are symbols of Garuda Pancasila and Unicef. This money is made of gold and weighs 6.22 grams,” said BI.
Meanwhile, the Rp10 thousand bill on the face has a picture of a scout member who is planting a million trees.
For the record, the Indonesian Scout Movement is the name of a non-formal education organization that organizes scouting education carried out in Indonesia.
The back of this bill is the main image of the national emblem Garuda Pancasila, the text of BI, and the Unicef logo. The basic ingredients of the Rp10 thousand denomination are silver with a grade of 0.925 and a weight of 28.28 grams.
