GridHEALTH.id – The female reproductive system or organ is an important organ that needs to be known and maintained for its health.
Reproductive organs in women are not only limited to the vagina or uterus. In general, the female reproductive organs are divided into two parts, namely the external and internal genitalia. Here are the differences between the two
A. External genitalia
Launching the book Understanding Women’s Reproductive Health Edition 2 (2009) by dr. Ida Ayu Chandranita Manuaba, Sp.OG et al., the external genitalia consists of several parts, such as:
1. You come to the mountain. Also known as Mount Venus. The shape protrudes to the front cover the pubic bone.
2. Labia majora (big lips). Derived from mons veneris, the shape is oblong pointing downwards and united at the bottom.
The outer part of the labia majora consists of hairy skin, fat glands, and sweat glands. While the inside, hairless and contains fat glands.
However, this section contains many nerve endings so it is sensitive during intercourse or sex.
3. Labia minora (small lips). Is a small fold on the inside of the labia majora. The anterior part of the labia minora surrounds the clitoris.
