Getting to know the Black Hole, The Black Hole that Eats Thousands of Stars

JAKARTA, kilat.com- Of alam In this vast universe, black holes or better known as black holes can rip apart thousands of stars. Black holes are places where gravity has a very strong attraction.

This great discovery is supported by NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory which shows evidence of large-scale stellar destruction. This stellar collapse explains the process by which a medium-sized black hole is formed by the expansion of a small black hole.

Astronomers have conducted research on two types of black holes, namely small black holes and medium-sized black holes. Small black holes known as “stellar-mars black holes”, usually weigh from 5 to 30 times the mass of the Sun.

“When stars are close together as if in very dense clusters, they form suitable breeding grounds for medium-sized black holes. The denser the star cluster, the greater the potential for black holes to form,” said Vivienne Baldassare of Washington State University in Pullman, Washington, quoted from scitechdaily.com, Tuesday (24/04/2022).

Black holes as cluster centers can easily pull in, shred and swallow star clusters to accelerate their growth.

As a region with very strong gravity, black holes have always caused controversy about their potential to destroy Earth.

Can black holes destroy the Earth? The answer is no. Black holes do not revolve around the moon, stars and planets, so the Earth certainly will not fall into the black hole because of its far apart location. (Patricia Anjani)
