Gets criticism for statements about poverty – VG

COMMENTS: The popular Briton gets criticism for new and old comments during clips that go viral on TikTok. Here she is at the Pride of Britain awards in October.

The British “Love Island” participant and influencer Molly-Mae Hague (22) is criticized after statements that several believe prove how privileged she is.

A few weeks after the 22-year-old was a guest on the podcast “The Diary of a CEO”, she is criticized for statements that include poverty. Several fans think her comments are insensitive and show that she is privileged.

Video clips from the recording of the podcast are now frequently shared on TikTok and Twitter, writes I defect. Hague was invited to the podcast to talk about the success she has experienced at a young age, but the reactions afterwards are not just “cheering”.

– You get one life, and it is up to you what you do with it. You can literally do whatever you want, she says the video. Excerpts from it are now going viral.

Recently, the influencer was hired as “creative director” for the clothing brand PrettyLittleThing. On Instagram the influencer has over 6.3 million followers.

– I understand that we all have different backgrounds, and we are all brought up in different ways, and we have different financial situations, but I think that if you want something enough, you can achieve it, the 22-year-old continues in the podcast.

In the episode, she also comments on criticism she has received for previous statements she has made, where one of them was “we all have the same 24 hours in a day”.

In the British media, there have been several cases about the influencer statements. It is written that she seems unaware of the financial problems facing millions of people in the UK.

– I have struggled to get where I am, Hague comments in the podcast.

The comments about poverty have also focused on the clothing brand PrettyLittleThing, where the 22-year-old is the leader. The brand has repeatedly been criticized for paying textile workers low wages.

UN woman and activist Gina Martin posted a Twitter message on Thursday in which she challenges the influencer to live on the salary that the workers in the clothing brand are paid:

So far, Hague has not commented on the criticism of the statements in the podcast. Some users on Twitter point out posts the influencer has posted earlier as a comment that she has a slightly more comfortable life than others.
