Getafe has had an irregular start in Spain’s EA Sports League and this time they suffered a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Real Sociedad.
On the sixth date of the Spanish championship, the team where the Honduran Antony “Choco” Lozano plays had to visit San Sebastián to face one of the strongest soccer clubs in that country.
The game started badly for the Azulones, because after two minutes the Basques had taken the lead with a goal from the Japanese Takefusa Kubo, however, they were able to recover from the adversity and turned the score around before the break with goals from Carles Aleñá ( 39′) and Borja Mayoral (45+5′) from a penalty.
At the hour mark, Real Sociedad’s captain, Mikel Oyarzabal, tied the game 2-2 from the spot and at 66′ Brais Méndez regained the lead for the home team.
At 78 minutes into the game, Honduran Choco Lozano entered, reappearing after missing the last game against Osasuna and played as a left forward. But to his misfortune, Real made it 4-2 two minutes from the end, Oyarzabal’s double. Juanmi Latasa scored 90+2 for the Madrid team.
In this way, Getafe remained in eleventh position in the Spanish league with seven points, although it is only three units away from European positions, since Rayo, which is sixth in the Conference League zone, has 10.
For his part, Choco Lozano played his fourth game with the Azulones, however, in all of them he has done so coming off the bench and among his minutes played he has not managed to add a complete game, as he has only seen 68.
On Wednesday Getafe will have another tough visit. Those led by José Bordalás will play at the Athletic Club de Bilbao field in San Mamés. The game will be at 11 am in Honduras.
