Abdelaziz Barrada, a former player born in Provins, France, but with the Moroccan national team, died this Thursday, at the age of 35, according to Getafe, the Spanish club he represented for three seasons.
Abdelaziz Barrada started his career at mid-sized French club Sénart-Moissy, then moved to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), before being transferred to Getafe in 2010.
First, the player played for Madrid’s reserve team, then he moved up to the main team, where he played 66 games and scored four goals in the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons.
After that, he also played for Al-Jazira (United Arab Emirates), Marseille (France), Al Nasr (United Arab Emirates), Antalyaspor (Turkey), Nàstic de Tarragona (Spain) and Al-Shahaniya (Qatar ). His last club was Lusitanos Saint-Maur (France).
Barrada, whose cause of death has not been disclosed, was called up for the first time by the Moroccan national team on February 29, 2012, for a friendly match against Burkina Faso (2-0), after being capped 28 trips.
The same year he was part of the Moroccan under-23 team that participated in the London 2012 Olympic Games, scoring a goal in the draw against Honduras (2-2).
