This Tuesday at 7 a.m., the SNCF will offer 10,000 Ouigo Classic Train tickets at 1 euro on its site to celebrate the first year of the launch of its low-cost travel offer by train at reduced speed.
You’ll have to be quick. It is this Tuesday, May 23 that the SNCF will put on sale 10,000 Ouigo Classic Train tickets at the price of 1 euro each.
Tickets will go on sale from 7 a.m. this Tuesday on the Ouigo.com website or on the Ouigo application. The planned trip must take place between May 24 and July 5 but must not concern the Pentecost weekend (May 29). Buyers will only be able to buy one ticket at 1 euro per person.
Be careful however, these will not be Ouigo TGV tickets but the Classic Train offer launched in 2022 like the Corail trains which are much slower. Count for example 4 hours for a Paris-Nantes, twice as long as a TGV.
All Ouigo Classic Train destinations will be affected by the offer, namely Angers, Le Mans, Chartres, Blois, Nantes, Dijon and Lyon. A total of 14 cities are accessible by Ouigo Classic Train on the Paris-Lyon and Paris-Nantes lines. It allows you to take advantage of low prices (between 10 and 49 euros, or even 5 euros for children under 12) in return for longer journey times.
1.3 million travelers
SNCF is thus blowing out the first candle of its new Ouigo service with this offer. The railway company is pleased with the success of this proposal and said to have transported 1.3 million passengers in these pink trains, i.e. 3,600 tickets sold per day on average.
The company intends to eventually extend the Ouigo Train Classique to new destinations at the end of its experiment, which is supposed to last two years. The company wants to compete with the car and ultimately wants to offer an offer to destinations where the motorways are the most frequented.
