Get Vaccinated and Tested for COVID-19 at Agua Dulce Beach in Lima this Weekend: Minsa

In order to promote a healthy summer, the staff of the Directorate of Integrated Health Networks (Diris) Lima Sur will travel to Agua Dulce beach, in Chorrillos, this weekend. In this place, vacationers will have the opportunity to receive the bivalent vaccine and undergo Covid-19 detection tests, according to the Ministry of Health (Minsa).

The Minsa emphasizes that the bivalent vaccine is the only one that is administered in order to prevent serious complications associated with Covid-19. Likewise, it emphasizes that it is not a requirement to have received previous monovalent vaccines to access this dose.

In relation to this, the Vice Minister of Public Health of the Ministry of Health (Minsa), Ricardo Peña, pointed out that people have the option of receiving the second dose of the bivalent vaccine after 4 months have passed since the application of the previous dose.

Along these lines, he called on the population to continue getting vaccinated against covid-19 in order to avoid complications with the disease that can lead to hospitalizations or deaths.

A few hours before Christmas, various vaccination centers reported early in the morning a large influx of people coming to get vaccinated against the coronavirus (COVID-19). The majority were adolescents and older adults, who arrived with their families to the immunization points of Playa Miller de Essalud (Jesús María) and the Agua Dulce vaccination center (Chorrillos), for the application of doses. Benefits of the bivalent vaccine

In addition, he highlighted that the bivalent vaccine provides protection against the latest variants derived from omicron, as well as against all severe forms of the disease and the risk of death. He clarified that, although this vaccine does not prevent contagion, it does significantly reduce the probability of becoming seriously ill.

Number of deaths increases

After confirming that 6 deaths have been recorded in recent days due to Covid-19 nationwide, Vice Minister Ricardo Peña assured that we are not experiencing a new wave of the disease. However, he urged the population to remain cautious and continue to protect themselves against the virus, placing special emphasis on the importance of older adults and people with comorbidities taking extreme care measures.
