Good news comes from OPPO for Reno5 5G smartphone users marketed in Indonesia. Yes! The OPPO Reno5 5G OPPO device which was introduced last January 2021, finally got a software update to unlock 5G network capabilities.

The update was monitored through an update notification on August 9, 2021 yesterday. The user can simply connect his device to a mobile network or use WiFi and check it on the software update menu located in the device settings options.

“Yesterday we updated the Reno5 5G software, this update will open the option of using the 5G network while updating the Android Security Patch in August 2021,” said Aryo Meidianto A, PR Manager of OPPO Indonesia in a release received by Droidlime.

Added by Aryo that users can simply check regularly through the device settings to get updates. One thing that OPPO Reno5 5G users should know is that the size of the file that must be downloaded is around 300 MB or more.

This update to open the 5G network means OPPO users who are in areas where the operator has deployed a 5G network. To find out which areas have already rolled out the 5th generation network, users can visit the sites of each operator to get more information.

In addition to opening the 5G network, this software update also applies various improvements such as improving the stability of the camera application, fixing application crash issues, optimizing gesture features, increasing step counting accuracy and increasing the success of the clone phone feature.

OPPO Reno5 5G itself is the first 5G device that OPPO introduced in early 2021. This device brings quite capable specifications including support for the high-end Snapdragon 765G SoC from Qualcomm, 8 GB of large memory and 128 GB of internal storage.
