TRIBUNJAKARTA.COM – Here are some facts about the Covid-19 vaccine Johnson & Johnson approved by the World Health Organization (WHO).
The J&J vaccine becomes the Covid-19 vaccine the third which received official support from WHO.
WHO approved emergency use the Covid-19 vaccine made by the pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson (J&J) on Friday (12/3/2021).
Previously, similar support was given to the Covid-19 vaccine made by Pfizer-BioNTech and a vaccine developed by the University of Oxford-AstraZeneca.
The J&J vaccine also became the Covid-19 vaccine the first required only one injection.
Currently in circulation vaccines, such as Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinovac, Oxford-AstraZeneca, and Moderna, require two injections.
“Every new, safe and effective tool against Covid-19 is one step closer to controlling the pandemic,” said the Director General WHO Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

Prior to being approved by the WHO, J&J’s Covid-19 vaccine received emergency use from the United States Food and Drug Authority (FDA) on February 27, 2021.
The J&J vaccine becomes the Covid-19 vaccine the third approved for use in the United States by the FDA. The other two vaccines are made by Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech.
