10 titles that promise to be highly received by readers reach the main bookstores in the country. Some stand out for their authors, others for the work as such, and others for its historical weight.
For example, two months ago, the writer Pilar Quintana won the ‘Alfaguara de Novela 2021’ award, with her work ‘Los abismos’, a fact that reaffirmed her as a favorite among critics and that made her award-winning text out of the expected in bookstores. Indeed, these days it has just gone on sale and promises to have a high projection in the number of copies moved, since in its preliminary sale, for example, in the National Library, it sold digitally around 100 to 200 copies in its launch week.
So this, along with more outstanding works, are part of the list of news for this quarter that is about to begin and that you should read taking advantage of this week off at home.
‘This is how I remember it’ by Rudolf Hommes, is another of the recently released books that have had a good circulation behavior since they were released. This, according to the National Bookstore, would be selling 100 weekly copies, currently ranking among the top 10 best sellers.
Another work that is part of the latest news is the biography of the current Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, published under the Roca Editorial label. Dan Morian narrates the entire personal and political trajectory of who was configured as the first woman, and of African American and Asian descent, to hold that position.
It is followed by the work ‘Personal Anthology’ by Juan Manuel Roca produced by Editorial Lumen, indicated for lovers of poetry. Along with that he is accompanied by another Lumen release. It is about the book ‘Marilyn: a biography’ by the author María Hesse, who after the success of her biographies of Frida Kahlo and Bowie and with more than 200,000 readers on top, will now try in her book to discover in another facet, the remembered actress Hollywood Marilyn Monroe.
