JAKARTA – Currently, a smartphone with a large battery is needed to support communication and productivity to keep it running smoothly. But a large battery alone is not enough, it also needs to be supported by fast charging support.
OPPO is one of the smartphone manufacturers that offers both at the same time. For OPPO’s fast charging technology called VOOC Charging, this technology was introduced for the first time in 2014.
VOOC itself was developed by OPPO Electronics. VOOC fast charging technology is designed to ensure OPPO users never run out of power and can charge without overheating.
VOOC stands for Voltage Open Loop Multistep Constant-Current Charging. Which is a closed ecosystem consisting of a special adapter with a micro controller, a special cable, and a VOOC IC inside the smartphone.
When it was first introduced, VOOC technology was claimed to have a charging speed of up to 4x faster than regular charging. In just 30 minutes, VOOC is said to be able to charge the battery up to 75 percent.
This VOOC technology continues to evolve, until it becomes SuperVOOC 150W which allows charging from 0-100% in just 15 minutes. This is possible on smartphones with a battery capacity of 4,500 mAh.
SuperVOOC technology is present in OPPO Reno7 Z 5G and OPPO A96. But not SuperVOOC 150W but SuperVOOC 33W. For OPPO Reno7 Z 5G which uses a 4,500 mAh battery, charging from 0-100 percent can be done in 60 minutes.
Meanwhile for the OPPO A96 which has a jumbo 5,000 mAh battery, charging from 0-50 percent can be done in just 26 minutes. This is all possible because the 33W SuperVOOC voltage used is increased to 11 Volts and a current of 3 Ampere. CM
