Each era even has a very different design and use. For example, two years ago NASA launched a prototype of a new astronaut suit that will be used on a mission back to the Moon, Project Artemis, which will take place in 2024.
The suit is made a little more flexible than the usual astronaut suit. Through this special suit, the astronauts who will be sent to the Moon will be able to move further to the sides of the Moon that have never been explored.

“The new outfit makes it easier to walk, bend and crouch when walking on the lunar surface,” said Amy Ross, NASA space engineer.

Mercury Suit (1961-1963)
The first astronaut suit was made for the crew of the Mercury spacecraft. As many as 6 astronauts get special clothes that they use while in space.
To protect the first astronauts from sudden pressure loss, the Mercury Suit had a nylon lining coated with neoprene on the inside and nylon on the outside to keep the inside temperature stable.
