The planet Mars is the only explored place in the solar system, and the only planet to send explorers to explore alien landscapes.

NASA has two rover robots (Curiosity and Perseverance), one lander (InSight), and one helicopter (Ingenuity) exploring the Martian surface.

The largest and most advanced rover that NASA has sent to an “other world,” lands on Mars on February 18, 2021, with a 203-day journey across 293 million miles (472 million kilometers). The Ingenuity helicopter ascends to Mars clinging to Perseverance’s belly.

In May 2021 China became the second country to successfully land on Mars when its Zhurong Mars rover landed.

The International Fleet of eight orbiters studying the Red Planet from above includes three NASA orbiters: 2001 Mars Odyssey, Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, and MAVEN.
