JAKARTA Hezbollah o Hezbollah is an organization as well as a political and military party of Shiite origin Lebanon which was formed in 1982. This organization aims to fight Israel and seek the support of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Hezbollah began its movement against Israel by carrying out attacks on martyrdom. As its military capabilities and strength increase, Hezbollah is able to launch missile strikes and lead guerilla warfare.

Hezbollah’s current secretary general is Sayid Hasan Nashrallah. Previously, the position was held by Subhi al-Thufaili and Sayid Abbas Musawi. So far the Hezbollah organization has been involved many times in open wars with the Israeli army, including the 33-day war.

The 33-day war is a war triggered by Israel’s desire to seize Hezbollah’s weapons and free two of its militias that had previously been captured by Hezbollah in Operation Al-Waed Al-Sadiq.

Hezbollah in Syria in addition to being a supporter of the local government, has also fought against the militia of the Takfiri group. This organization is also involved in the cultural, social and political fields. An Al-Manar television station is said to have been affiliated with Hezbollah.

From July 12 to August 14, 2006, there was a conflict between Israel and Hezbollah that led to the invasion of Israeli troops in Lebanon with the aim of suppressing Hezbollah attacks on Israeli settlements.

The suicide bombers basically aim to drive Israel out of their buffer zone in southern Lebanon. Missile attacks on Israeli settlements are often inaccurate and worrying for those who live there.

However, the latest problem came when Hezbollah attacked an Israeli patrol on July 12, 2006, killing three soldiers and reportedly kidnapping two of its soldiers (who may have died in an ambush). Five other soldiers died in the failed rescue attempt.
