Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
Arrhythmias are either a disorder or heart disease marked by a beat heart irregular. Although not too dangerous, in certain conditions, arrhythmias can cause more severe complications.
Arrhythmias themselves occur when the electrical impulse signals that coordinate the heartbeat don’t work properly. An irregular heartbeat can feel like a racing heart.
Arrhythmia itself consists of several categories, including bradycardia (slow heartbeat), tachycardia (fast heartbeat), fibrillation (irregular heartbeat), and early heartbeat.
Arrhythmia itself is triggered by several factors that cause the heart to not work properly. Some of the factors include infection, stress, hyperthyroid disease, heart conditions, as well as a number of stimulants such as alcohol, cigarettes, caffeine, and certain drugs.
Symptoms of Arrhythmia Heart Disease
Basically, arrhythmias do not trigger obvious symptoms. However, doctors will generally detect arrhythmias during routine examinations or through an electrocardiogram (EKG).
However, arrhythmias are generally felt together with a number of symptoms commonly felt by patients, as quoted below WebMD:
– palpitasi
– heart beat
– tired or nearly passed out
– mild headache
– hard to breathe
chest pain or discomfort in the chest
How to Calculate Heart Rate
Doctors have identified a healthy heart rate by counting the number of times the heart beats per minute during the resting phase.
The range for the resting heart rate varies from person to person. However, the American Heart Association (AHA) notes, resting heart rates generally range from 60-100 bpm.
You can calculate your own heart rate in the following ways, quoting Medical News Today:
1. Rest for 5 minutes.
2. Set a timer for 1 minute.
3. At the same time, measure your heart rate by touching one of the following body parts:
– wrist
– the inside of the elbow
– the side of the neck adjacent to the ear.
