The more the days pass, the more the task becomes complicated for the lawyers of Donald Trump, targeted by a dismissal procedure. After revelations from former National Security Advisor John Bolton, a recording of the president dated April 30, 2018 comes to bring water to the Democrats’ mill. Resurfacing this Saturday January 25 in the American media, the video shows the White House tenant indulging in a private dinner in a suite at the Trump Hotel in Washington.
The telephone which records the images is visibly placed on the reception table, showing only the ceiling. But it is the voice of the billionaire that we hear in the face of fifteen donors. After 39 minutes of recording, the discussion centers on Ukraine. As a man – whom the American media thinks is Lev Parnas, who himself entrusted the video to them – suggests separating from the American ambassador to Ukraine, he seems to attract the attention of Trump who asks him he speaks well of Marie Yovanovitch. “Yes, basically she says to everyone:‘ (Editor’s note: the American president) is going to be removed. It’s a question of time “It’s incredible”, retorts his interlocutor.
It will not take more to arouse the ire of the American head of state. “Get rid of her. Get her out tomorrow,” he says. “Kick her out, ok? Do it.”
As a reminder, Marie Yovanovitch is at the heart of the Ukrainian affair which may cost Trump his post. She was quickly called back to the United States in the spring of 2019. According to the Democrats, Trump’s choice to dismiss him was not trivial, it stemmed from the President’s desire to put in his place a loved one who would allow him to do pressure on Ukraine.
