Liputan6.com, Jakarta The high number smoke in Indonesia requires immediate action. Preventive measures also need to be carried out simultaneously by every resident starting from their respective homes.
The Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (Kemen PPPA) shared 7 tips for reducing numbers smoke starting from the home environment.
The first tip that can be done is to tell a friend or family member that the house they live in has a Smoke Free Home or a smoke-free house.
The second tip is “get rid of ashtrays and matches at home,” said Deputy for Child Development at the Ministry of PPPA, Dra. Lenny Nurhayanti Rosalin, M.Sc in the Kemen PPPA webinar, (17/9/2020).
Next, prohibit guests from smoking at home. Then, prevent people who have just finished smoking from direct contact with family members, especially babies and children.
“Change clothes, shower after smoking. Don’t be selfish, so don’t think that after smoking there is no transmission. “
The next tip, ask the child to write “Smoke Free Home” to remind all family members. Finally, set a good example for children by not smoking.
“Children are excellent imitators, children will easily imitate whatever is around him. So if in the family the parents smoke, the child must be smoking. Even though parents don’t smoke, their peers smoke, they also have the potential to become smokers, so children are more vulnerable. “
