Get ready, this is an area that cannot watch TV using ordinary antennas as of April 30

KOMPAS.com – Migration of analog TV broadcasts to TV digital The first phase will be completed on April 30. This first stage covers 116 districts/cities covering 56 broadcast areas.

The migration of analog TV broadcasts to digital TV or Analog Switch Off (ASO) is divided into three stages. Analog TV broadcasting in the first stage will be turned off no later than April 30, 2022, while the final stage will be carried out no later than November 2, 2022.

In this first stage, the number of regions that will be affected by the migration of analog to digital TV is the largest. The affected areas include parts of Sumatra, Java, Bali, Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku, to Papua.

The ASO stage itself is regulated in Ministerial Regulation (Permen) Kominfo Number 6 of 2021 concerning Broadcasting, including matters of territory and the schedule for termination.

The government, through the Ministry of Communications and Informatics and related operators, has prepared a variety of ASO supporting infrastructure such as transmitters and other technical matters.

However, community readiness is also needed in the migration of analog TV broadcasts to digital, namely in terms of the availability of STB.

For that, Plt. The Director General of Post and Information Technology, Kominfo, Ismail, appealed to the public to hurry to buy a Set Top Box (STB), which is a tool to convert digital signals into images and sound that can be displayed on analog TV.

In addition, through the broadcast page digital.kominfo.go.id, the Ministry of Communications and Informatics also provides details of 116 regencies/cities in 56 regions that will no longer be able to watch TV broadcasts with regular antennas as of 30 April.

The following are the regions that will no longer be able to enjoy regular TV broadcasts as of April 30, 2022:

  • Aceh-1: Aceh Besar District, Banda Aceh City
  • Aceh-2: City of Sabang
  • Aceh-4: Pidie District, Bireuen District, Pidie Jaya District
  • Aceh-7: North Aceh District, Lhokseumawe . City
  • North Sumatra-2: Karo Regency, Simalungun Regency, Asahan Regency, Batu Bara Regency, Pematangsiantar City, Tanjung Balai City
  • North Sumatra-5: Dairi District, Pakpak Bharat . District
  • West Sumatra-1: Solok Regency, Sijunjung Regency, Tanah Datar Regency, Padang Pariaman Regency, Agam Regency, Padang City, Solok City, Sawahlunto City, Padang Panjang City, Bukittinggi City, Pariaman City
  • Riau-1: Kampar Regency, Pekanbaru City
  • Riau-4: Bengkalis Regency, Meranti Islands Regency, Dumai City
  • Jambi-1: Batanghari Regency, Muaro Jambi Regency, Jambi City, Sarolangun Regency
  • South Sumatra-1: Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, Banyuasin Regency, Ogan Ilir Regency, Palembang City
  • Bengkulu-1: Central Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu City
