Get ready for a new T20 league competing with IPL; Brace yourself for the impending game-changer, here’s what to expect…

New Delhi: Indian Premier League (IPL) is the most profitable T20 league in the world. Be it in terms of finances, participation of world-class players, presence on social media, or when compared to other T20 leagues around the world, IPL is unmatched. However, Saudi Arabia is gearing up to wrest the title of ‘world’s richest T20 league’ from the IPL.

The Saudi Ministry of Sports is reportedly planning to start a world-class T20 league to capitalize on the global acceptance of cricket. For this, Saudi Arabia has met with the IPL owners and promised to provide the necessary facilities. According to a report, the issue has been under discussion for almost a year. But before anything substantial can happen, the league needs to be sanctioned by the International Cricket Council (ICC). ICC Chairman Greg Barclay confirmed Saudi Arabia’s interest in cricket.
