Get ready! 137-meter-long asteroid enters Earth orbit tomorrow

JAKARTAUnited States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) tracking data monitor asteroid as high as 137 meters (m) which is expected to cross Earth’s orbit on Friday (9/9/2021).

As reported by the Daily Star, asteroid dubbed 2021RE it is estimated to be at a distance of 5.47 million kilometers (km) from Earth tomorrow. READ ALSO – NASA Detects Asteroids As Big As 2 Times Big Ben Speeding Up Towards Earth

For comparison, the distance from month to Earth is 384,400 km.

2021RE will travel at 30,000 meters per hour and will cause a huge dent if it hits the earth.

Meanwhile, in the next few days, several objects the size of houses and planes are expected to pass near the earth.

Earlier this month, NASA launched a new study that raises the possibility that asteroid named Bennu which has a width of 536 m will hit the earth between now and the year 2300.

A type C space rock listed as a ‘potentially hazardous object’ to humans was discovered in 1999.

Bennu is one of the two most dangerous asteroids found in the solar system.
