Get Price! At the Airport a glass of Milo Rp. 42,000 makes this passenger upset

Jakarta

Get a price or set a price that is too high again. This time it happened at Changi airport, Singapore where the price of a small glass of Milo was so expensive.

The average price of food and drinks at tourist attractions and airports is indeed more expensive than other places. It turns out that the phenomenon of expensive food and drink prices, or getok prices, also occurs in Singapore.

Reporting from AsiaOne (01/06), this story started with a passenger who spilled his frustration on Complaint Singapore Facebook. He told me that while at Changi Airport, he had to experience a price knock by one of the restaurants there.

At that time he was in Terminal 1, and stopped by to eat at Anjappar Restaurant. He bought a few drinks, and two prata bread. He thought it wouldn’t be too expensive.

When viewed, the total bill reached SGD 20.60 (Rp 218.000). But what surprised him the most was a small glass of Milo’s drink, served in a simple paper cup. The price of the drink reached SGD 4 (Rp 42,000). He also bought a small coffee, which cost SGD 4.50 (Rp 47,000).

As evidence, he also uploaded a photo of the Milo glass.

“The size of the glass is very small, but the price is very expensive. This is located in terminal 1, yes, I only share information with you,” concluded the man whose identity was not revealed.

This upload immediately went viral, and got hundreds of comments from Singaporean netizens. Many feel that the price is reasonable, because this man eats and drinks at the airport, where indeed all food prices there have increased many times.

But many netizens also disagree. Because the prices displayed are quite expensive, especially with the appearance of food that is perfunctory and looks like leftover food.

“But really the price is very expensive. Paper cup models like this, if in the office kitchen it’s free, no need to pay,” commented one netizen.

“Even though this is indeed located at the airport. But the price is outrageous, how come the price for such a small Milo is up to SGD 4? If the price is in the range of SGD 2.50 (Rp 26,000) I still don’t have a problem. But if it hits 4 SGD, it’s too much. The rental fee is expensive, but don’t put that price on it,” concluded another netizen.

In addition, many netizens have mentioned that there are many other restaurants at Changi Airport that are cheaper. But because these diners came at 4.30am, when other restaurants were still closed. So what is available may only be an expensive place to eat.

In comparison, at other coffee shops in Changi airport, the price for a warm cup of Milo is around SGD 2 (Rp 21,000). So the prices at the Anjappar restaurant are indeed quite expensive.
