Mang Eman, a trader from Garut who went viral for buying nasi padang with Rp 5,000 or goceng, immediately prostrated himself in gratitude when he received hundreds of millions of donations from netizens. Moving, Mang Eman will donate part of the donation money for orphans.
The donation of Rp 108 million was handed over directly by Elsa Amelia, the donor, at Padang Bungo Tanjung Restaurant, Jalan Ahmad Yani Timur, Garut Kota District.
Feelings of emotion, sadness and happiness radiated from the old face of this 51-year-old man. Mang Eman prostrated when he received that much money.
“On behalf of Eman, I am very grateful to everyone. May this kindness be a deed of worship and a blessing,” said Wawan, Eman’s sister, to reporters, Saturday (31/7/2021).
According to the mandate of the netizens who donated, said Wawan, Eman plans to use the money for business capital and build a house. This is because Eman is currently living at his mother-in-law’s house with his wife and two children.
“Still living at my parents’ house. I don’t have a house yet,” said Wawan.
According to Wawan, Eman also donated the money for orphans. “It is also used for orphans. There are still many in need,” said Wawan.
Since the video of Eman buying nasi padang with fried money has gone viral on social media, many netizens have pity and sympathy. Netizens flocked to ask video uploaders to open donations for Eman.
Elsa Amelia, the first uploader of the video, said that so far, the total donations collected from netizens for Mang Eman have reached Rp 108 million.
“The total collected is Rp. 108 million,” said Elsa.
