For its thirteenth edition, the engineering school’s Business Forum Supmicrotech Ensmm de Besançon welcomed 31 establishments and institutions, who came to meet the students, the only ones in France specialized in the field of microtechnology, to recruit them for internships or jobs. “The first edition of these meetings was born in 2011, following expressions of interest from local and Swiss companies in the profiles of our students. Since then, the formula has gained momentum. We went from around ten companies in the first year to 27 today, with 48% companies from the BFC region and 33% from outside our borders (including 19% from Switzerland), explains Karim Haouchine, industrial cooperation manager. and secretary general of the Supmicrotech foundation.

This mobilization demonstrates the perspectives offered by mechanical and microtechnical engineering activities which enable the development of complex systems and intelligent microsystems, essential for the industry of the future. In detail, 26% of the companies present work in luxury, watchmaking and microtechnology, 22% in metallurgy, 19% in engineering, 11% in transport, 7% in energy, 7% in medical and 4% in defense security.” This flagship annual meeting offers students a privileged space for exchange with businesses. There were 500 students present for this unique day.
Sign school-business partnerships
On the business side, the objective is to capture profiles, collect CVs, etc. “We have many collaborators who are alumni of Supmicrotech. Between 30 to 40% of our recruitments go through this school, particularly in the leather goods sector for the development of mechanical parts for the clasps of our bags and in the more obvious field of watchmaking.explains Matthieu Fredon, campus manager at Louis Vuittona luxury company present for the second time on this forum and which plans to sign a partnership with the school.

A closer link with Supmicrotech that Grupo Antolin has already established for several years: “We became a partner to be in a win-win dynamic, to attract young people with good training. It is also a way to remedy our recruitment difficulties by finding suitable profiles linked to our fairly technical professions in the automotive sector”.
“There is a significant share of recruitment on this day, whether it is an internship offer for February 2025 or a job. For our school, it is also an opportunity to present to companies all the potential of the establishment in terms of training and research, supports Karim Haouchine. This also allows us to formalize partnerships contractualizing a set of actions throughout the year: company visits, HR workshops on interpersonal skills, technical conferences addressing real and practical cases, support for R&D development and improvement of competitiveness through the school’s Partnership Platform system, which provides the partner company with a project team made up of final year students over a semester, as well as the establishment’s scientific equipment. .. This support can take place over the long term with the establishment of an industrial chair under the supervision of the Institute Femto-STone of the most important French public research laboratories in engineering sciences and applied physics ».
