GESTOCI distinguished best company in the petroleum sector in Côte d’Ivoire – AIP – Agence Ivoirienne de Presse de Côte d’Ivoire

Abidjan, 06 Nov 2021 (AIP) – The Côte d’Ivoire Oil Stock Management Company (GESTOCI) was appointed on Friday 5 November 2021 in Abidjan, at the 8th edition of the National Day of Excellence (JNE 2021), best company in the petroleum sector.

In the presence of the President of the Republic Alassane Ouattara, the prize consisting of a trophy, a diploma and a check in the amount of 10 million FCFA was received by the general manager of the state company, Ibrahima. Doumbia.

This distinction is the result not only of the performances achieved by the company in recent years, of its resilience in the face of the COVID-19 health crisis, but also of the many innovations introduced in its management.

According to the jury of the award of excellence, GESTOCI stood out for its efforts which enabled it to obtain the JIG certification. This certification entitles this company to supply all airport depots with A1 jets.

In addition, the transfer of land export to the Yamoussoukro depot has been successfully carried out since August 10, 2019. Thus, all truck loadings intended to supply Mali with fuel have been carried out exclusively by GESTOCI from its Yamoussoukro depot.

The success of this transfer made it possible to relieve congestion in the Vridi area, in particular the access roads to the GESTOCI depot in Abidjan. These performances were made possible thanks to a set of innovations introduced in the management of the company.

All the reforms and considerable investments initiated have enabled the Company to increase storage capacities (Abidjan and Yamoussoukro) and boost its activities, by assuming its role as storage leader in Africa.

Created on September 14, 1983, GESTOCI’s mission is to store hydrocarbons in quality and quantity to constitute safety stocks, on behalf of national and non-national private operators and to deliver petroleum products to approved distributors, and to manage and maintain the facilities, equipment and materials required for operation.

The National Award of Excellence rewards those involved in socio-economic and administrative life who have shown exemplarity in the performance of their activities.

The 2021 edition of the National Award of Excellence dedicated 84 laureates (natural or legal persons) at the presidential palace in Abidjan Plateau.
