Gert will release his first solo album on September 10, His most beautiful songs. The songs were all written by Gert and were used in popular television programs. However, there is no question of a career switch: “It is purely a hobby project”, the Studio 100 boss tells The Telegraph.
A day after the launch of his album, Gert gives a performance in Plopsaland, on the occasion of 25 years Studio 100. “I know that my vocal capacities are limited. So it is not the intention that I go through life as a great singer,” he says modestly.

He dedicates the album – which is full of love songs – to his sweetheart Ellen. “Ellen is my dream woman,” says the Flemish presenter. He continues: ”One day I took the plunge and asked her if she would like to have a drink with me. One thing led to another.”

The love life of the two was not always a bed of roses. After an affair with former K3 singer Josje Huisman, the relationship of the Flemish couple came to an end.
Still, the love between the lovebirds was strong enough. “It has to do with forgiving, giving new opportunities and believing in the future. That is exactly what Ellen has done,” explains the entrepreneur. He has been together with Ellen since 2012, whom he married in 2019.
