Gers: the procedure is launched for the choice of land for the future Auch hospital

the essential
On Thursday, February 9, the Auch hospital center presented its call for expressions of interest for the acquisition of land as part of the new hospital project.

This is the first step after long months of waiting. The Auch hospital center presented this Thursday, February 9, the procedure to be followed to finally designate the land of the future hospital, which must emerge from the ground by 2028.

The place was to be unveiled for the visit of the Minister of Health on December 9, announced the director general of the ARS. But the bitter discussions between politicians, still in progress at the time of the ministerial visit, had not made it possible to bring everyone to agreement. The publication, before February 15, of the call for expression of interest (AMI), should put an end to the debates. Through this pre-selection method, the hospital center invites candidates to make their offer within one month.

Calendar

To decide between the hypotheses which circulate – Montégut or Pavie, essentially – the procedure of the AMI will be articulated around several dates. Before mid-February, the call will be published on various media, including the Internet and the press. Applicants then have 30 days to express their interest. On March 17, the call is closed, and the analysis of the proposals lasts until April 6, date of validation of the location chosen by the hospital committee, chaired by the director of the center. The file then passes to the Domains, until July 5, and the signing of the pre-contract.

The future site will have to meet strict general criteria, and other more qualitative points. The land must consist of a single right-of-way of at least 8 ha, entirely located on the territory of Grand Auch. Currently, the area of the hospital is 15.6 ha, including 1 ha of built land. Pollution, servitude, but also potential evolution of the places, will be part of the primordial points of the call for expressions of interest.

Maillage territorial

The qualitative analysis indicators will be used to decide between the sites offered under the CEI. Particularly the question of access to the future hospital, whether for users, rescue helicopters or public transport. Geography will play an important role in the choice of terrain: flat terrain is not abundant around Auch, close to traffic lanes… And often the flat land is subject to flooding! The presence of networks already in place, the absence of local residents or buildings to be demolished… So many more points that will undoubtedly eliminate entire areas.

Last point, of importance, the anchoring of this site in the Gers health network. If it is intended to become the heart of the system, the future hospital must meet the need for territorial networking, whether it is the population or other structures dependent on the hospital centre. The field will also have to anticipate changes in medical activity. Answer on Thursday, April 6.
