Liverpool’s legendary captain Steven Gerrard began his career as a professional coach in June 2018. The historic Glasgow Rangers hired the former English midfielder, despite having no top-level managerial experience, to end their eternal rival’s insulting hegemony Celtic, who have won the last nine editions of the Scottish Premier League.
In the 2018-19 season, Rangers finished second, 9 points behind Celtic and in the last one they repeated the final classification, although they were still further away (13 points) from the champion. In the current season Gerrard is on his way to finally bring Ibrox Park the first league title since 2011.
Rangers lead the Scottish Premier after 15 games played with 41 points. He remains undefeated and has only given up two draws since the start of the championship. And what is more important, he is 13 points ahead of Celtic, although the latter, led by the now questioned Neil Lennon, has two games to play.

Rangers don’t just win over the Scottish Premier. Gerrard managed to qualify for the 1/16 final of the Europa League last Thursday after defeating Standard Liege (3-2) and this Thursday he will visit Lech Poznan on the last day of the group stage with the aim of keeping the first place in the league that it shares with Benfica.
If they win or draw, Rangers will finish undefeated as they have won three and tied two in the five games played. In the qualifying phase, Gerrard’s team overcame three single-game qualifiers after beating Lincoln Red Imps of Gibraltar (0-5) and Dutch Willem II (0-4) away from home and Turkish Galatasaray (2- 1).
