Juninho Bacuna has a nice transfer: the 24-year-old midfielder from Groningen is exchanging Huddersfield Town for manager Steven Gerrard’s Rangers FC.
Bacuna was still stuck in England for one year, so Rangers had to pay an (unknown) transfer fee. Three years ago he made the switch from FC Groningen to Huddersfield, which at the time still played in the Premier League. Bacuna has been a fixture in the Championship for the last two seasons.
Now Bacuna will play for Rangers FC, the reigning champions of Scotland. According to Scottish media, Gerrard was a strong supporter of his arrival. Bacuna’s name was also sung around Hampden Park a year ago. Rangers now seem to be letting go of interest in Joey Veerman (sc Heerenveen).
Rangers have started the season in Scotland with three points from two games.
