Pavlos Geroulanos launched attacks against Nikos Androulakis on the occasion of the statements of the president of PASOK that if some people ran as they are running now in the pre-election race for the leadership of the party, in the European elections, PASOK might have reached 20%. It is a statement that was made in the wake of the findings about the PASoK presidential candidates who are elected in the regions where the party records its lowest percentages, that is, in the urban areas.
“Mr. Androulakis knows that I am the only one who can ensure the change of leadership in the second round” he said, characteristically, (OPEN) Responding to a related question, the candidate President of PASOK-Movement of Change, Pavlos Geroulanos, being asked to comment on recent statements by Nikos Androulakis regarding the result of the European elections in Athens and in the Regions of the other presidential candidates, saying that “if they ran as they are running now in the pre-election race for the leadership of the party, in the European elections, PASOK might have reached 20%”.
Mr. Geroulanos emphasized that “Athens is the only Region in Greece that, from the National elections to the European elections, increased the absolute number of voters who came and voted for PASOK. And this was something that we set as a goal with the secretary of the prefecture. We ran a lot and that’s why we made it. If we had succeeded in all of Greece, then PASOK would have been the second party. But, I think these observations are motivated by something else. Mr. Androulakis knows that I am the only one who can ensure a change of leadership in the second round. So he knows that if I go to the second round, his own position becomes very difficult and I think that’s why he has decided to launch this attack.”
