His plan for “the PaSoK of our future”, as he said, was presented by the candidate for the party’s presidency, Pavlos Geroulanos, at noon on the day of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Movement.
The presentation was made in an online discussion with executives and supporters of Mr. Geroulanos while it was watched in Greece and abroad.
“It would be a violation of the mandate for rebirth if we dedicated this historic day to yesterday,” underlined Pavlos Geroulanos, “and for that reason I will dedicate today’s event to the PaSoK of our future. In the PaSoK we deserve. A Code of Principles and Values. A PaSoK of the citizens, not of the pareos. A PASOK active movement, not a club of memories”.
“What is today a celebration for us, is an expectation for every Greek man and woman. That from a coordinated internal party process, the Panhellenic Socialist Movement will be reborn. And from the revival of PaSoK, we will revive the homeland. Nothing less is acceptable”, stressed the candidate for the leadership of the party and harshly criticized the government of Mr. Mitsotakis, saying: “The welfare state is being destroyed in their hands. Education, health and social security are losing their public character. Democratic institutions are being decimated. Wealth accumulates in the hands of a few.”
Mr. Geroulanos stated that he envisages a PASoK faithful to its values (patriotic, human-centered, socialist), modern (that understands the needs of society), democratic (the first reason at the base), connected to society (utilization of all its executives PaSoK in bodies), independent (freed from any commitment) and open (opening its arms to every progressive Greek) autonomous, self-sufficient.
“I am committed to a PaSoK of citizens and executives, not of peers.”
I don’t have “my” team, I know how to make teams. Utilization of every strain, without exclusions.
What we advocate for the government must govern every function of our party.”Watch…

He committed to a specific timeline of his actions if elected to the leadership which includes:
- Statutory conference and full organizational and electoral readiness of the Movement in 9 months (before summer 2025).
- Programming conference in one year (immediately after summer 2025).
- Complete government program, by policy area and by region, until the end of 2025. With the first 5 “Renaissance” bills ready.
He also clearly described the operating rules of the PaSoK that he envisages:
- “Rule, the clean Register of Members and Friends.”
- “Rule, the election of the organs from the base”.
- “Rule, the nomination of our candidates from the grassroots.”
- “Rule, the facilitation of the participation of every citizen. From every village in the country, to every expatriate Greek man and woman. In organization, network or digital.
- “Rule, the full possibility of digital operation of the Party”.
- “Rule, the organizational and financial decentralization of our Movement. Independence in the operation of each of our Organizations with goal setting, evaluation, accountability”.
- “Rule, the orderly convergence of the instruments” with specific commitments for each instrument.
Absolute respect for the Statute
Concluding his report on the operation of the party, Pavlos Geroulanos underlined: “I do not want and there will be nothing in the Statute that is impossible. But everything in the Statute will be respected by all. If we are not, today, an example of respect for our own Statute, how will we convince that tomorrow we will be an example as a Government of respect for the Constitution and the Laws? Nothing sends out louder messages than our actions.”
The presidential candidate for PaSoK made special reference to the goal of the “fastest possible repayment of the debts” of the Movement, to the utilization of every member in society, he committed to a leadership that unites.
“I don’t believe in parties where a president comes with “his” and puts the others on ice. I believe in parties that are run by democratically elected bodies, that set clear goals and everyone works as one team. That’s why I don’t have a party group. I don’t have “my own”. I don’t need my own team to preside. I haven’t learned that way. I have learned to build teams. Taking advantage of whatever, whoever and whoever wants to offer”, he stressed.
Pavlos Geroulanos closed his online presentation, with a call to every member or friend of PaSoK, asking for their vote “to assume the responsibility of leading PaSoK to power again”.
