The Air Force’s pre-deployment training has been carried out at the Germersheim site since 1999. It all started with the preparation for the KFOR mission in the Balkans. Numerous training courses have taken place for a wide variety of missions over the last 25 years. The soldiers of the Air Force, as well as members of other branches of the armed forces and international troops, regularly took part in the training in the Southern Palatinate.

Whether for missions in Afghanistan, Mali, Niger or Jordan – pre-deployment training in Germersheim is an integral part of operational planning. The location is therefore an indispensable training location for the Air Force and other armed forces. Pre-deployment training prepares soldiers for various missions in crisis areas. The focus is on tactical and cultural training, technical knowledge and special operational scenarios to ensure the operational readiness and safety of the troops. (cli/fw)
