In the near future, Ukraine will not get membership in the North Atlantic Alliance. This was announced by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to the German TV channel Welt.
“In 2008 in Bucharest, NATO adopted decisions that formulated a long-term perspective. It is clear to everyone that this (Ukraine’s entry into NATO) will not happen in the foreseeable future,” Scholz was categorical.
He explained that to join the organization, Kiev must meet certain conditions, which it cannot meet now.
Volodymyr Zelensky stated earlier that Ukraine would like to receive an invitation to NATO today as support from Western partners.
