Berlin (ots) –
Yesterday evening, the “Superbrands Germany 2023/2024” awards were presented to 22 brands in Berlin. Isabell Werth, the world’s most successful dressage rider and Germany’s most successful Olympian with 14 Olympic medals, also received the award as a “Superbrands Germany Personality”. The ceremonial award ceremony took place in the Alte Münze.
Isabell Werth is “Superbrands Germany Personality 2023/2024”
She is a legend in equestrian sport and, at least since this Summer Olympics, the icon of dressage riding: Isabell Werth. As an eight-time Olympic champion, nine-time world champion, twenty-one-time European champion and fourteen-time German champion, the exceptional athlete leads the world rankings in dressage riding.
With this award, Isabell Werth joins a group of high-caliber personalities. Malaika Mihambo, Dr. Eckart von Hirschhausen, Wotan Wilke Möhring, David Garrett, Iris Berben, Boris Becker and Franz Beckenbauer have also previously been honored as “Superbrands Germany Personality.”
Yesterday evening, Isabell Werth was honored as a “Superbrands Germany Personality” live on the stage of the Alte Münze. The laudation was given by the well-known equestrian journalist Carsten Sostmeier. As a sports commentator for ARD, he has been commenting on equestrian sports for three decades with his distinctive voice and unique expertise.
In his laudation, he described Isabell Werth’s life and impressive sporting career in a stirring and anecdotal manner and emphasised: “She is not only the most successful rider of all time, she is this large, unique, brightly lit candle in the middle of the wonderful cathedral of dressage. Germany’s most successful Olympian of all time – she deserves to be honoured with the Superbrands Personality of the Year Award.”
Special prices for Plant-for-the-Planet and Plan International
In addition to the strong brands that were honored as “Superbrands Germany,” two organizations again received an honorary award. Plant-for-the-Planet and Plan International were honored as “Honorary Superbrands 2023/2024.”
Model, entrepreneur and Superbrands juror Barbara Meier gave the laudatory speeches for both organizations. She emphasized: “As a mother, I appreciate the work of these organizations even more, which look internationally, do not look away and help the weakest in our society or are committed to climate protection. An absolutely deserved award as Honorary Superbrands for Plant-for-the-Planet and Plan International.”
Moderator and presentation coach Frederick Wettey led the evening of the awards ceremony. With more than 15 years of stage experience, he led the audience through the program with charm and humor. The two artists Oscar Kaufmann and Bertan Canbeldek showed impressive acrobatic performances – Oscar Kaufmann on the Cyr Wheel and Bertan Canbeldek juggling.
All awards were presented by Superbrands Germany Director András Wiszkidenszky. He said of the successful award ceremony: “I am proud that we were once again able to recognize outstanding brands this year and honor Isabell Werth, an exceptional athlete. Our numerous guests experienced an unforgettable evening and my team and I are already looking forward to the next season of Superbrands Germany.”
