Moving around, escaping lockdown and enjoying the first rays of spring sunshine while exercising – this is good for our health, but also for our soul. In Frankfurt there are some beautiful routes that are perfect for cycling or skating, but especially for jogging. One of the most popular and most beautiful running routes is without a doubt the banks of the Main. For everyone who wants to treat their body to another workout in addition to running, this route is now even more attractive. The reason for this is the “Frankfurter Runde” project of the economic department, for which the go-ahead was given last Friday. Along three possible routes (5.4 km, 7.5 km or 10.2 km), digital workout stations can be called up, the exercises of which are specifically geared to the respective route sections.
Markus Frank, head of the economic department, is enthusiastic about the project: “An idea that makes our city a little sportier and more attractive. Quite simply, by giving the already great running lap on the Main a real training extension. The individual exercises have been developed by the trainers involved, Steffen Laudely and Michael Schmelzer, and are regularly exchanged so that sports enthusiasts who want to use the offer regularly do not get bored.
