German Foreign Minister Annalena Verbock has taken a hard-line stance against China.
By referring to Chinese President Xi Jinping as a dictator, he caused a diplomatic stir with China.
While talking about the war in Ukraine in a recent interview with Fox News, Minister Verbok asked, “If Russian President Putin wins this war, what kind of signal will it be to dictators around the world like President Xi Jinping?” and “Ukraine must win.” “He said.
China regarded this as an open provocation and summoned the German ambassador to China to strongly protest.

Germany has taken a hard-line stance since July, when it developed a China strategy that regards China as a systemic rival and reduces trade with it.

Germany is being mentioned as a candidate for a permanent member in the expanded reorganization of the Security Council, which has become invalid due to abuse of veto power by China and Russia.
Foreign media are reporting that Germany, along with India, Brazil, and Japan, is being named as an additional permanent member of the Security Council to be proposed by US President Biden at the UN General Assembly.
