The German soccer players suffered their first defeat at the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. The DFB selection lost 2-1 against Colombia in Sydney on Sunday and has to tremble for a place in the round of 16.
The outstanding player on the Colombian side was 18-year-old Linda Caicedo, who gave the South Americans the lead with an absolutely dream goal. Germany equalized just before the end with Alexandra Popp’s penalty, but Manuela Vanegas headed a corner from a corner in added time to give Colombia the win.
This means that Germany has to tremble for the round of 16 participation and probably needs a win in the final group game on Thursday against South Korea.
