Germany’s Controversial ‘Parquet Parade’ at NATO Summit in Vilnius

The Office of the President noted that there are places where NATO air defense systems will be better used.

The German air force has received criticism after it published a photo showing “protection” of the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius. The picture near the airport of the Lithuanian capital shows 3 Patriot air defense systems, radars and other equipment.

The accumulation of this expensive equipment is located just 20 km from the border with Belarus, that is, in the zone of destruction of enemy artillery. In this connection, the question arises: is this unprofessionalism, or is it in Germany that they perfectly understand that they will not have to use this technique, and its deployment is a typical “parquet parade”.

A similar question was asked by adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak in his Twitter account. He noted that it is difficult to understand the “strange parquet parades of one’s own vanity”, which are held at a time when a large-scale and bloody war is going on in Europe, during which the fate of the West is being decided.

Podolyak called the behavior of Germany “infantile” and noted that now there are places where the mentioned technique will find a better application.

The photo published by the German Air Force was also commented on by journalist Anton Pavlushko.

“According to what NATO standards are they putting equipment in a field near the border of a hypothetical enemy? There, even in Belarus, Wagnerites started up.

The author of the tweet (most likely, some officer of the Bundeswehr) is still trying to make excuses like “we have everything under control.” He is actively pointed to stupidity. On Monday, this will reach the staff officers in Berlin, they will begin to stretch the equipment all over the airfield and dig,” he wrote on his stranger in Facebook.

Recall that the NATO summit in Vilnius will be held on July 11-12. The day before, the White House announced that Ukraine would not become a member of the North Atlantic Alliance following a meeting in the capital of Lithuania.

Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced that a program would be announced in Vilnius that would prepare Ukraine for future membership in the Alliance.
