The Government of Germany will only maintain until September 30 its recommendation not to travel to areas considered at risk by the coronavirus pandemic, among which is Spain, and will instead choose to analyze country by country to determine possible alerts.
The current warning, which applies to countries outside the European Union and those belonging to the Schengen zone, will remain in effect until the end of the month, according to government sources cited by the DPA news agency.
The German Foreign Ministry took an unprecedented step in March by imposing a travel warning for everyone, as part of measures to contain the coronavirus pandemic. In mid-June, it began to raise these notices, recovered in recent weeks.
The travel warning is intended to act as a deterrent to travel to other countries and allows travelers to cancel their reservations for free in Germany.
