Germany wants Ukraine to surrender to Russia

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Government German he said he wanted Ukraine to quickly surrender to Russia. This was revealed in an interview with former British Prime Minister (PM), Boris Johnson CNN Portugal which was released earlier this week.

quoted Newsweek, Johnson said Berlin wanted the situation resolved “as soon as the Russian battalion tactical group got together.” This was before Russia’s attack on Ukraine on February 24th.

“I’ll tell you a terrible thing, the German point of view at one point,” he reportedly said on Thursday (11/24/2022).

“That if it were to happen, which would be disastrous, then it would be better if everything ends quickly and for Ukraine,” he added.

“I can’t support that. I think it’s a disastrous point of view. But I can understand why they think and feel that way.”

Johnson also had sharp words for France and Italy. He said he denied the country’s continued attacks.

“I remember the Italians again… very dependent on Russian hydrocarbons. At one point they just said they wouldn’t be able to back up our position,” he said.

Meanwhile, Russia reportedly continues to attack Ukraine. On Wednesday, President Vladimir Putin’s troops fired 65 more missiles at residential buildings and an energy station.

In an operational update, the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff said the country’s Defense Forces had shot down 51 of 65 Kh-101 cruise missiles. All of them fired on the capital Kyiv, as well as Vinnytsia, Lviv and Zaporizhzhia regions.

“Throughout the day, the Russian occupiers carried out a massive attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure,” he said.

The attack was called one of the most “disturbing” attacks Ukraine has suffered in recent weeks. This again cut off power to Kiev and other areas.

The deputy head of the Ukrainian presidential office confirmed new attacks on “important infrastructure structures in several regions”. On the other hand, Energoatom, Ukraine’s national nuclear company, reported that Europe’s largest power plant Zaporizhzhia has now entered “total blackout mode” due to relentless Russian shelling.

Authorities reported yesterday that one of the Russian rockets hit the maternity ward of a hospital in the city of Vilniansk. This killed a newborn baby and injured its mother.

“The enemy has once again decided to try to achieve by terror and kill what he could not achieve for 9 months and will not be able to achieve,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote in Telegram.

“Instead, he will only be held accountable for all the crimes he has brought to our country,” he said.

Ukrainian MP Lesia Vasylenko said the attack killed a total of seven people. Meanwhile, 34 people were also injured.
