Blinken said he will chair the 20-nation ministerial meeting with German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas.
In an interview with reporters, the secretary of state said that his department is in “constant contact” with the Americans who are still in Afghanistan and want to leave.
He also said that the United States will “maintain channels of communication with the Taliban on important issues.”
