Germany. Three platforms of the station were blocked due to an aggressive dog

At the train station in Bremen in northern Germany, the platforms had to be blocked due to an aggressive dog. The owner tied a rottweiler he couldn’t handle to a post on the station platform. He called the police for help. The officers also had problems with getting the animal out.

At the Bremen main station, a frightened and aggressive Rottweiler and its new owner closed the platform and changed train traffic. According to the police, the 23-year-old bought a pet for 50 euros from a man at a train station.

Removed after administration of a sedative

The seller and the buyer were contacted by an advertisement in an internet forum. The very questionable circumstance of acquiring a living creature without trusting a seller at a train station was incomprehensible to the federal police, the service said.

According to police officers, the scared dog bit the 23-year-old who bought it. The man did not know how to deal with the animal, so he tied an emaciated Rottweiler to a post on platform two and alerted the police.

However, the dog did not let anyone get close and also snarled at federal police officers. There was no way to put a muzzle on him. It was also unclear whether the rope that was tied to the pole would break. To protect passengers, platforms 1-3 were closed and the trains moved.

The dog was finally sedated with food. The service dog trainers of the police then managed to get him into a special transport box.

He ended up in a shelter

The animal weighed about 30 kilograms.

“The malnourished Rottweiler has been quarantined in an animal shelter and hopefully one day it can be put into good hands,” writes Der Spiegel.
