(PM) Germany continues to lead the way in the production of modern and particularly high-quality wood fuel, as confirmed by the annual Pellet Report from Bioenergy Europe: Around 27 percent of the certified ENplus pellets produced worldwide in 2023 come from Germany. In June 2024, more than 1,200 companies worldwide will be ENplus-certified, 228 of them in Germany alone.

Over ENplus
Certified producers, dealers and service providers are obliged to introduce a comprehensive quality management system that is regularly checked by experts. In order to prevent the misuse of the ENplus brand and to guarantee the quality of the pellets, both the DEPI and the international management of ENplus in Brussels are working continuously on this. Legal action is taken if the seal is misused by non-certified companies. This ensures that consumers are protected from buying inferior pellets. 330 companies are currently on the so-called “black list”.

The quality of the pellets is constantly being improved through the further development of the certification. The revised version 4.0 of the certification manual from DEPI and the European Pellet Council is available on the ENplus website. In Germany, in addition to wood pellets, which are mainly used in single-family homes, certified ENplus wood chips are also available for larger residential or industrial buildings.
