Germany regards the Netherlands as a high-risk area

The German government regards the neighboring country of the Netherlands as a high-risk area from now on, due to the particularly high number of infections. Anyone who wants to travel from the Netherlands to Germany from Tuesday, must therefore be able to submit a negative corona test. The German health institute Robert Koch announced this on Sunday.

Neighboring countries the Czech Republic, Poland and France had also previously been labeled a ‘high-risk area’ by Germany. The Netherlands is now also part of this, due to more than 200 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in a week.

Previously, the Netherlands was simply classified as a ‘risk area’. Anyone traveling from a risk area to Germany must have themselves tested and present at the earliest 48 hours before departure or at the latest 48 hours after arrival. Those coming from a high-risk area must take and submit the test before arriving in Germany.

For the time being, Belgium is considered a high-risk area by the Germans, not a high-risk area.
